This year, I went on an incredible adventure with my best friend. Believe it or not we planned it all in less than two months and barely saved any money. I really wanted to document our adventure so I got a YoCam (similar to a GoPro). Before you judge my videography skills, I had never used the camera, nor had I ever documented my life like that. I understand it’s not the best quality, but it got the job done. It was an amazing learning experience and I can’t wait to film my next adventure!
With that being said, here is some back story to our trip…
Re-wind six years ago, I lived in Costa Rica when I was 14-16. I spent my first two years of high school in a private school in Heredia, Costa Rica. I’ve traveled all over the country prior to this trip so I had an idea of the places I wanted to go. I planned the entire trip myself, Ale had no idea what I had planned. It was also her first time traveling outside the U.S. and I had to make sure it was memorable. We were able to stay eight out of our ten days with friends and family and two days in an all-inclusive Hotel, so that definitely helped us budget every activity we wanted to do. We did so many cool/adventurous things that I didn’t even get to record everything. I wish I could re-do this trip over and over, I had the time of my life!
and now, I’d like to present, Chelsea and Ale go to Costa Rica….Enjoy!
It doesn’t matter what anyone says, we all have an itch to travel. We’ve all been jealous of that one person on Instagram that looks like they’re having the time of their life, let’s face it. Traveling is easier than you think. It takes some saving and planning but it’s definitely not impossible. The world has so much to offer. It’s just here, for us to explore. Don’t be one of those people that looks at peoples posts and wishes you could do that too. If you’re thinking of traveling, just do it!
I’ve seriously learned so much about my culture and other cultures just by experiencing life outside my city. It has definitely opened my eyes to struggles I never imagined having and ways in which people overcome these struggles and still live a happy life. I’ve seen ugly, beautiful and everything in between; those experiences have been life changing.
You are never too old or too young to travel. There is just no excuse! If I can do it, you can do it too. Just start by saving what you can from each paycheck, even if that means you cut out starbucks for a month. Think about how much worth it would be to lay on the beach somewhere than to have your morning fix of iced coffee. You got this, I believe in you!
Thanks for tuning in!
